Legendary organizer, Fred Ross Sr. said that learning to organize is a life long process, and to learn you need to be hands on — in the real world, working on real life problems. TOLA is based on Fred’s teachings, so each year TOLA fellows are assigned to real life projects — be it a community outreach effort, candidate’s campaign, school revenue measure, or effort to get community support for local neighborhoods.
